I'm not really a late comer to this blogger party, I've just been -- busy, bored with the internet, burned out, resistant to joining the crowd (anti-social, perhaps), more of a watcher than a participant in general, etc. (insert excuses/reasons ad nauseum).

I was a Sysop back when the BBS was king. If you were around back in the day, you know exactly what I'm talking about. If not, or if you think the World Wide Web is synonymous with The Internet, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, and I don't have the time or space here to try to explain it.

I'm no stranger to online recordings of daily thoughts and other online interactions. It seems like "blogging" is where the hip, mainstream crowd finally catches up with what the geeky tech-head crowd was already doing 10 or 15 years ago. So who knows -- maybe I have avoided having a blog up until now just because I didn't want to do what all the cool kids were doing, or because it's fun to be different. Or because I'm lazy and unmotivated.

I don't really have any particular plans for this blog. In all likelihood, almost nobody will ever see this, or care. I have mixed feelings about this whole "Hey, look at me!" thing that the internet, webcams, blogs, myspace, etc have become. It's like a big giant reality TV show where everyone gets to play along, and anyone can become a star (at least, in his own mind).
